Tell the kite your idea
Answer a few plain questions. Pathkite shapes your idea into a short plan, then breaks it into gates: each feature, then launch.
Free Mac beta · looking for 5–10 testers
Pathkite is a little kite that floats on your Mac while you build with any AI tool. Click it, and it checks your screen, tells you exactly what’s missing for this step, and guides you from idea → plan → build → launch.
macOS 12+ · Apple silicon or Intel · Free during beta
How it works
Pathkite turns “I’ll finish it this weekend” into small gates you can actually pass.
Answer a few plain questions. Pathkite shapes your idea into a short plan, then breaks it into gates: each feature, then launch.
Keep building in Lovable, Cursor or wherever you like. When you think a step is done, click the kite. It looks at your screen and checks it against the gate.
See what passed and what didn’t, copy a ready-made fix prompt, and check again. Pass the gate and the next one unlocks, all the way to launch.
Features
A gentle coach on your desktop, not another dashboard to babysit.
Every feature gets a clear definition of done. The kite checks your screen against it, so “mostly works” stops counting as finished.
Gates adapt to the tool you’re using, so the steps and fix prompts fit how Lovable, Replit or Cursor actually work.
Turn it on for a session and the kite gives a gentle nudge when you drift off the current task. Off by default, never switched on for you.
A shiny new feature idea pops up mid-task? Type one line and park it. The kite reminds you once the current gate is done.
Missing something? Copy a prompt written for your AI tool that fixes exactly that, and nothing else.
Each passed gate keeps a record of what was checked and when, so “done” really means done, and you can see how far you’ve come.
The unglamorous stuff that makes an app real, before anyone else uses it.
Works with your tools
Pathkite looks at your screen, not your code editor’s internals, so it works alongside whatever you build with.
Product names belong to their owners. Pathkite is independent and not affiliated with them.
Privacy
A kite that watches your screen should earn your trust. So Pathkite is built to see as little as possible.
A screenshot is taken only when you click the kite. Nothing runs in the background. Focus mode uses app names and file changes, not screenshots.
API keys, passwords and tokens are blurred before a screenshot is checked.
Each screenshot is used for that one check and then thrown away. You see a preview before anything is sent.
Hi, I’m qi liu, a grad student at Columbia. I love vibe coding, and I kept starting projects with it. And I kept abandoning them at about 80%: the login half worked, payments were “later”, and a shinier idea always showed up.
So I built the friend I needed: a little kite that sits on my screen, checks what I’ve actually built, tells me what’s missing, and won’t let me skip to the fun part. Pathkite is early and a bit rough. If you have a half-finished project too, I’d love your help making it better.
Free beta · Mac only
I’m looking for 5–10 testers who are building something with an AI tool right now. You get early access and a direct line to me. I get honest feedback.

FAQ
It keeps you moving from idea to launch. It helps you turn an idea into a plan, splits the plan into gates, and when you click the kite it checks your screen to tell you what’s done and what’s still missing for the current gate.
Anything you build with on your Mac, including Lovable, Base44, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor and Claude Code. Because it checks what’s on your screen, you don’t need to install plugins or connect accounts.
Only the screenshot taken when you click the kite. You see a preview first, secrets are blurred, and the screenshot is not stored after the check. It never captures in the background.
No. The kite speaks when you click it. The only exception is Focus mode, which you switch on yourself for a session and which only sends gentle drift reminders.
The beta is free. Testers get an invite code that includes a daily allowance of checks, so you don’t need your own AI key.
A Mac with macOS 12 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Windows isn’t supported yet.
Fill in the short form. The beta is small (5–10 testers), so I’ll reach out personally with an invite code and the download link.
